Mahmoud Darweesh & Almond Flowers

"Ka Zahr El Lawz aw aba3ad" - (Like Alamond Flowers or Further)

And Further I say did Mahmoud Darweesh go in this latest work of his.

I wanted to know how the Almond Flowers could have prompted Mahmoud Darweesh, an all time favourite, today. I never seen an Almond Flower before. So I looked it up.
How pretty it is. Almost Mystic. And it was that when I looked up this :

"The hope in dreams of a happier hour,
That alights on Misery's brow,
Springs out of the silvery Almond flower,
That blooms on a leafless bough."

by Emili Thompson

Darweesh outlines this work in Four Anchors Pronouns: You, He, I, and She. And four Exiles in the Palestinian Diasporas where the 4 persons moves from one Diaspora to the next in a fluid but firm poetic distinct style. Some times the (I) alone where Darweesh goes "Further" in age and feeling it's toll (physical and spiritual), Some times the persons of I & He or I& You move in pairs, where the (I) becomes, (You).

Or the moves are in threes where the (He) joins in with the (I) and (You) in the sagas of the contemporary diasporas in a “Tuesday Morning Day Dream”, crossing (or staying) "on an intensely Fogged Bridge".

The She, her majesty, the beautifully sad Land is the ever eternal love for Darweesh. Nicely put in a She/He winter passionate meet.

In an I (am) He and "Like an icon of an old great Arab Poet" he explores the beginning, and another Diaspora.

All to a remarkable and very lively "Tebaak" and an amazing Mirror Image but far more active and realistic Sync of the utmost intellectually active Diaspora in the heart of Soddom /(New York) with Edward Saeed and the impossible achievement.

Great .. Great poetry. Sad, but hopeful joys of blossom still manage to settle in.

And Further ...

Hi Ya Tadry. I'm really glad that you stopped by after a long while, but with the warmest words to my self: Great Appreciation of the couple "Darweesh & Marcel". & a double prize that both brings the joys of your life. I've known & seen Marcel life in concert. First time I've met Marcel. He listened for a while & then he said "Ehki Arabi" his sincere words & songs I'll never forget...
I may post my brief but ver rich encounter with Marcel later.

"he is extremely out of this world." Any further elaboration? You are a poet of a kind yourself.
